Yield Yourselves Unto The Lord

Colossians 1:17 And he (Jesus) is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; THAT IN ALL THINGS HE MIGHT HAVE THE PREEMINENCE.

Having the preeminence is Jesus rightful privilege.

2 Chronicles 30:8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but YIELD YOURSELVES UNTO THE LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: 8 Thou hast put all things IN SUBJECTION under his feet. For in that he put ALL IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIM, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Yielding unto the LORD is what faith in Him does. It is what humility does. It is what unbelief does not do. It is what pride does not do. Faith is not just a passing thought, it causes action. Faith serves the Lord, seeks His will and obeys Him. Faith turns His wrath away.

When believers fall into sin, they should quickly yield themselves to Him anew. In every decision yield yourself to Him. When you don’t know what to do yield yourself to Him. When you can’t solve a problem, yield yourself to Him. When you have doubts, yield yourself to Him. We should strive to be yielded to Him every moment of every day.
